Back From the Beach!

I’m back from the beach!

We made it back to western PA around 8:30 p.m. tonight after a nice, relaxing vacation in Virginia Beach. It was a wonderful vacation full of reading, beach-going, delicious dining, and family bonding. While the weather was rather mild for the beach, and even rained for most of one day, we still really enjoyed ourselves.

I was very happy with how easy it was to have Aaron there with us. It truly felt like he was a part of the family, which really makes me smile. πŸ™‚

Isn’t he handsome? πŸ™‚ He doesn’t usually have his head shaved, but he does once a year to remember a friend who passed away from cancer. He’s a keeper.

My uncle Don was a fantastic host. He suggested the best restaurants and made sure we saw some pretty great things.

There was an air show featuring the Blue Angels during our first day to celebrate OpSail 2012. It was epic.

Ahhh, nothing better than a rainbow on the beach.

We spent vacation mostly relaxing, but we did go to Norfolk to see the Naval Museum and Aaron and I also biked for about 15+ miles in the beautiful First Landing State Park.

Having lots of time for reading was one of the highlights of our trip.

Here’s Aaron on the Battleship Wisconsin.

Though I did end up getting sick on the boat while deep-sea fishing and my phone got wet and had to sit in a bag of rice (it prevailed!), the vacation overall was a wonderful time. I am a beach girl at heart and love nothing more than putting my toes in the sand and watching the waves. We didn’t want to leave!

Hope you all had a great week! I can’t wait to see who wins the giveaway! It will be announced on Saturday πŸ™‚ Get your entries in before it’s too late!
