Alas, we finally meet, August. The month of preparations and changes. The month that seemed so far away, and yet, here you are.
You already started with a bang, celebrating my last day of my summer job with “A Night at Hogwarts.” Well played, August. You seem to know me well already. (Might this be a preview of what’s to come?)
But today I start my first day of Springboard training in my new school with my new coworkers. I hope that you’ve got some great things scheduled today because I’m pretty nervous.
This is the first year you won’t be filled with band camp (first time in eight years) or going back to school and I’m not quite sure how to feel about it. But I also know you will have me very busy with packing, planning, lesson writing, moving (will you give me a move-in date already? I’m stressing out!), decorating, meeting with friends, getting in as many dates as possible, goodbyes, and hellos. Maybe there will be a little blogging in there, too 😉
Most of all, I hope you prepare for me for what will probably be the hardest year of my life. I am excited, nervous, anxious, and scared, but I think this is exactly where I need to be right now.
